nyx.atmosphere.components.tau_rayleigh(wvls, height_km, pressure_hpa=None, scale_height_km=8.0)

Rayleigh optical depth of the air column above the observer.

Uses the Hansen & Travis (1974) parameterisation at 1013.25 hPa.

Parameters:

• wvls (array-like) – Wavelengths in nm.

• height_km (array-like or float) – Observer height above sea level, in km.

• pressure_hpa (float or None) – Station pressure.

• scale_height_km (float) – Scale height of the barometric fallback exp(-height / H).
